Top Five Games I Played in 2022

This is when I write up my list for the top games I've played this year. However, all I've played for most of it is Pokemon. A whopping five games in this franchise in fact. So, since I list five games I liked playing the most this year, I just need to put them in order.
5. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond

An admittedly lackluster remake of the original Pokemon Diamond, this doesn't really add much besides stuff from generations after the fourth. Even the revamped Underground and contests were kinda meh. But I still enjoyed playing it.
4. Pokemon Go

I got a new smartphone in late June just so I can play this game again. And it was so worth it, because now I actually can participate in events like the monthly Community Day and special research stuff I never was able to in the past. If only I could afford tickets for Go Fests.
3. Pokemon Wilds

This is actually a fan game. It's a lot like Terraria, in which it features a pre-generated open world, building houses, Pokemon pens, and farms, and crafting items like Pokeballs. You can even put your Pokemon into the overworld and get crafting materials from talking to them.
2. Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu!

This is a remake of Pokemon Yellow, but includes catching mechanics from Pokemon Go. Seeing it would have been not as fun if I did a normal playthrough, I instead did a challenge where I fought the Trainers with just the starter Pikachu.
1. (Say it with me) Pokemon Legends: Arceus

This game is quite the departure from what I'm used to in Pokemon. I would never guess that Souls-like mechanics and difficulty would ever be incorporated into a Pokemon game. Regardless, this is the most fun game I've played this year and I'm happy I managed to defeat the True final Boss.
With my playthrough of Pokemon Scarlet starting on Sunday, and how long I feel like that's going to take me, I'm not sure if I can play any other game next year that I haven't listed in a previous year's list. We'll just have to see.
